Furious Fire (Grimm's Circle #8)
by Shiloh Walker

It had always been her...

Ten years had passed since the doors slammed shut behind Decker Calhoun, taking away his freedom, but more importantly, locking him away from Elizabeth Waters, the only woman he'd ever loved — the woman he'd given up everything for.

The day he was sentenced, he'd looked at her and said, No regrets, Lizzie. But he lied, because he did have one. Although he's been out of jail for three years now, he was a year too late. Lizzie never knew how he felt and just months before he was released, she found somebody else and it's too late.

Or maybe not. It seems that Lizzie's boyfriend wants an open relationship and two can play at that game. Now all Decker has to do is convince Lizzie that he's the better man... and has been all along.

NO PRINCE CHARMING

Do I sound slightly bitter? Sorry. Can't help it. I'd lost my rose-colored glasses a few hundred years ago. Right about the time I lost my virginity and, shortly thereafter, my Prince Charming.

"Elle."

Speak of the devil.

I knew that voice. It was the last voice I wanted to hear right now. Unless he was saying something along the lines of, "Ow, that hurts!" as I beat him across the head with a heavy, blunt object.

I stood there, frozen. Although I didn't want to turn and face the music, my partner had no reservations.

I dug my fingers into Ren's arm.

Why?

Will. Damn it. He'd done this — orchestrated this. The bastard.

Schooling my features, I turned around and I'm proud to say, I didn't feel the urge to swoon. Not even for a second.

That angel face of his hadn't changed at all in the past three hundred years.

He looked as perfect now as he had the day he kissed me for the first time.

Heat flashed through his grass-green eyes as he studied my clothes and despite myself, my belly clenched in response. Why is it that I can barely remember the name of my father, my stepmother, my friends growing up, but I can still remember the way it felt when he made love to me the first time? It had hurt... but then, after he'd cleaned me up, he'd lain between my legs and done things to me that had left me scandalized.

I can still remember the shock. I can still remember the pleasure.

And I can still remember the pain when I discovered the following night that he was engaged to be wed.

To my sister.

"Why... if it isn't my Prince Charming."

A Very Married Christmas
by Erika Marks

Cookbook author Marley Chambers can’t think of a more festive way to spend Christmas than at a friend’s holiday wedding in her hometown of Magnolia Bay. If only her soon-to-be ex-husband, all-star pitcher, Beckett “Beck” Chambers wasn’t bringing his new girlfriend—and if only he wasn’t still the sexiest man to ever walk out onto the mound…

Beck never wanted the chaotic life of a sport star—especially not at the cost of his marriage to the only woman he’s ever truly loved. But his career is a runaway train—and he’s afraid it’s too late to hit the brakes.

But when a mix-up leaves Beck and Marley stranded together for Christmas Eve on the barrier island where Beck proposed years before, old memories burn bright—and sparks fly hotter than a bonfire on the beach.

Could the magic of the season bring the gift of a second chance, just in time for Christmas?

Mick returned with their drinks and set them down. “I hope I’m not interrupting.”

Beck swerved his gaze to Mick and gave him a dismissive once-over. “Come back in a sec, will you? We’re not ready to order yet.”

Actually,” Mick said calmly. “I think we are ready. And you’re sitting in my seat.”

Beck looked back at Mick, his study longer this time. “Who the hell are you?”

Marley opened her mouth to explain but Mick was quicker. “I’m Marley’s date,” he said, his calm edging toward annoyance. “Who the hell are you?”

Marley had to look at her lap to keep from breaking out into a smile. She was only sorry averting her eyes meant she couldn’t enjoy the look of bafflement on Beck’s face. It was so rare that he found himself at a loss for words.

“I’m her husband,” Beck said tightly.

Marley’s amusement vanished. “Oh, so now you’re my husband?”

Mick stuck out his hand to Beck. “Mick Atwell.”

Beck stared at it a moment before accepting the younger man’s handshake. “Beck Chambers,” he admitted low.

“If you want to join us, Beck, you’re welcome to,” Mick said, reaching for a nearby chair and swinging it against the open side of the table, patting the upholstered back of it as he added, “but if it’s all the same to you, I’d prefer you take the extra seat.”

Beck looked at Marley. She leveled an even look back at him. Did he honestly expect her to make this easy for him?

“Tell you what,” Mick said to Beck. “Why don’t I go check out the appetizer table and give you a chance to decide. Sound cool?”

“Yeah. Cool,” Beck repeated dryly, his gaze still fixed on Marley.

She turned to Mick and gave him a warm smile before he left their table, then dropped it the minute she shifted her stare to Beck. “What do you think you’re doing?” she demanded.

“Me? Do you have any idea how old that kid is?”

“Said the man dating a toddler.”

“Since when do you go out with bartenders?”

“Since one asked me out.”

“You do know that bartenders are all players, right?”

“Funny, I’ve heard the same thing about pitchers.”
