Ace's Redemption (Devil's Despair #1)
by A.C. Bextor

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: October 2, 2014

Memories alone can ruin you. Fear has a paralyzing effect, and love isn’t always enough to keep you safe.

Ace was the gateway to a freedom I hadn’t known since I was fifteen. He offered his protection from the demons that haunted me; both living and dead.

Although I knew I wasn’t enough to keep him, this didn’t deter my hope that one day he’d love me for who I was, not the broken girl he tried so desperately to save.

In the end, the ghosts of my past found me. Their malevolence knew no bounds, and I was forced to succumb to their will of darkness. Each threat named against those I loved made any escape impossible; choosing my life for theirs became my desolate absolution.

Inevitably, it was my own weakness and self-doubt that became my undoing.

Emotional ties are sometimes severed. Friendships don’t always endure their hardships, and love offered isn’t always returned.

I was in love once. For me, leaving her back in Ohio was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. For her, moving on with her life that included her son and the man she loved was no less than she deserved — unconditional happiness.

My reasons to bring Cherry home to California were obvious. I needed help with my family, and she needed help staying clean and convincing her parents she was ready to give her son the life he deserved.

It was a perfect plan. However, the best laid plans often get lost amidst their best intentions.

Cherry fell in love with me, and in return my love for her acted as the catalyst to her destruction.

Authors Note: This novel contains material that is not suitable for individuals under the age of 18. Content includes: drug use, explicit language, violence, rape, and other scenarios with content that readers may find offensive. Please use caution when deciding on this book, as every reader has the right to understand the product before purchase.

Ace’s Redemption is the first standalone novel in the Devil’s Despair series. Although the main character of Ace was introduced during the Lights of Peril trilogy, you do not need to read that series in order to follow this one.

Turning around, giving me his back, he takes his boots off with one thud, then another, throwing them on the linoleum floor at the doors entrance. "I'm just trying to..."

No longer having his eyes bore into me or having to fear the face that's so angry all the time, I momentarily lose my temper. It's rare that I do, but at times when I feel safe enough, I let it go. I finish his thought for him. "To protect me! You're trying to protect me! All the time, as if that's the only purpose you have. I get it, I do, but I'm not yours to protect. Give yourself a rest, Ace. Let someone else take the load off for a while."

Whipping his head around first, his body immediately follows. He stalks toward me and, it has to be said, when Ace stalks, his large frame comes at you and he stalks. He's angry.

Putting my hand out to stop him from coming any closer, he runs his chest into it. "Ace, I don't want to sound ungrateful..."

"Know what I did all day today? Do you have any fuckin' idea the day I had today, worrying, waiting, wondering? I thought, for six fucking hours, of ways to protect you. How I could keep you safe from all the Greysons, Vinnies, and bar idiots of this world. You have me going nuts here. Last night, Cherry..." His voice changes octaves, anger to concern, "you were so scared and I was helpless to save you from those nightmares. Nightmares that those kinds of men caused you."

I don't say anything; he's calming down, and anything I may say to try to make this easier for him could upset him further.

Before I can think of anything to add, he shocks me with his statement. "Sadey's gone."

Since I don't know where this is coming from, I stand still in front of him, looking up. His eyes are glassy; evidently, he's thought about a lot today while I was gone.

"I can't have her. I never could."

His hand reaches out to touch my neck, his fingertips tracing the dip at the bottom of my throat. Finally, a small tear releases from his eye and drops down his face, quickly falling to his shirt.

"I'm letting her go, Cherry. I am. But..." he smiles, but it's a stressful and upsetting smile hiding his sadness. "I'm doin' it knowin' I was the only one holding on."

"I'm sorry." He's broken. This large man in front of me is so broken, by mostly self-inflicted hurt, but in so much pain nonetheless. Realization is dawning that no matter what he does, he's powerless. Ace doesn't do well with the feeling that goes along with being helpless.

Powering through his tortured admission, he continues. "I thought, while you were out with Trav, that I would have to let you go, too. It's stupid and ridiculous, but it's the truth. I swear, I'm telling you the truth."

Amazing story and characters!

This is Cherry and Ace's story. They are both characters of the Lights of Peril series, but this is the first book written by A.C. Bextor that I read, so for me it is the first time I'm meeting them.

Ace was a member of the Light of Peril MC. He fell in love for the wrong girl and he ended up getting beat up by one of his brothers. He left because he couldn't see her with another man. Ace returns to his hometown to live with his grandmother and sister. But he doesn't go alone. Cherry goes with him. Cherry was the one he confided his feelings and the one who helped him heal after the beat up.

Cherry was a club slut. She slept with the MC members in order to have their protection. However, that didn't end up well and she was captured and tortured by a rival MC. Ace takes care of her, as she took care of him. She turned to drugs to deal with what happened to her. She also has a child that she left with her parents because she wanted to give her son a better life.

When Ace left the MC, Cherry went with him under the condition that she was going to get clean and was going to help his grandmother and sister. Everything seems to be going great. Cherry becomes friends with Ace's childhood friends and her friendship with Ace seems to be developing to something more. But the monsters of her past come back to haunt her and she needs to make a decision that can destroy everything she built with Ace.

This is a very emotional story, with lots of drama and action but also with very sweet and very steamy moments.

At first I thought that Cherry was going to have a victim's personality, but I was wrong. After all she has been through, she still finds a way to move on and try to be happy with the ones she loves. She is a survivor but most of all she is a survivor. She has to make a though decision to protect the ones she loves but at the same time she knows that decision will destroy everything she built to be happy.
Ace is an amazing alpha male. He is strong, dependable and caring, that does everything he can for the people he loves. He made me frustrated sometimes! He had a good thing in front of him but he could only think about the other girl. When he finally realized that Cherry was everything he was looking for in a woman, I was like "Hallelujah!".

Ace's Redemption is an amazing book, very well written.
A.C. Bextor is a very talented writer and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and the Lights of Peril series!

I love to read! I will read anything, literally. It may be a magazine, book, advertisement or even a cereal box. Specific authors that I follow have moved me to start writing. Before long that inspiration had produced a final product that I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do with. Obviously I hit publish and here I am.

Blessed with a great family that includes my husband, four kids, two dogs, and one hedgehog, I've lived in the Midwest all of my life. We currently live in a small town outside of Omaha, NE. My day job affords the ability to work from home and I've worked for the same lending company for nearly 19 years.

When I'm not reading, I try to be outside as much as possible even if it is just sitting on my deck with my reading device. I enjoy fishing, swimming, hockey games, and watching football with the family.

Merciless Ride (The Hellions Ride #3)
by Chelsea Camaron

Publication Date: October 10, 2014

Mercy is no friend of mine. Karma, she has yet to show kindness to me.

The hits just keep on coming for Tessie Marie Harlow. She has never had an easy life. Her mom disabled, her dad long gone, and a single mom raising a rambunctious little boy, that’s Tessie's world.

Her childhood aspirations to be a nurse long since disappeared after a college spring fling both blessed and cursed her with a baby boy. Dropping out of school, she returns to her hometown and begins to settle in. Getting the only job she could as a bartender she spends her days caring for her son and nights serving the Hellions Motorcycle Club and their affiliates.

Tired of waiting for Rex to grow up she's faced with the bane existence of her life until one night changes everything. In the darkest hour of her merciless ride through life, she's saved by a quiet, laid back Hellion.

Andy "Shooter" Jenkins has always been around. Too wrapped in Rex she's never really noticed him before. He has never been loud or known to have the girls hanging all over him. He is a mystery. A chance encounter brings him to her rescue not once but twice.

The Desert Ghosts Motorcycle Club are in town and bring their own brand of chaos right to Tessie's door. Forced into her day to day life, Shooter is doing everything he can to shelter and protect her as lines are crossed and a war between two clubs begins.

Secrets revealed putting two brothers in the Hellions Motorcycle Club at a serious crossroads in their lives.

This is not a ride for pleasure. This is not a ride for safety. This is not a ride for love. This is a ride for survival. Mercy has never once shined her grace down for these two, but in the midst of the danger and lies can they learn to rely on one another and ride it out together?

This book contains strong language, strong sexual situations, violence and is not suitable for readers under the age of 18. Please do not buy if any of this offends you. This is a work of fiction and is not meant to be a true or exact depiction of a motorcycle club but rather a book meant to entertain.

Walking in, I round the corner to the kitchen and stop in my tracks. Tessie is at the table with Axel. She has those little chocolate morsels lined up in front of her and her son, a pan of raw cookies on the other side.

"Okay, Axel, if you have four chocolate chips and you add two more, how many chocolate chips total will we be putting on the top of the cookie?" Tessie asks her son.

"One, two, three, four... I eat one" — which he proceeds to do before continuing — "five, six. We have six chocolate chips on top of that one, Momma."

I smile at the sight before me.

"You didn't share with me," Tessie jokes.

"Momma, you ate like half the bag mixing the cookie dough. You gotta save some for Gigi," Axel defends.

"Axel, a woman can never have too much chocolate," Tessie informs her son.

"Always remember that, Axel," I add, making my way farther into the room. "It applies to all women, and it may get your ass — I mean, butt, outta trouble one day."

When Tessie laughs, my heart skips a beat. It is the most beautiful sound my ears have ever heard. I've never, in all the years at the bar, heard her laugh. Watching her with her son, the light in her eyes, I want nothing more than to protect what the two of them share.

"You’re like the smartest dude ever, mister," Axel greets me, laughing alongside his mom.

"Nah, just observant. Learn early, chocolate is man's best friend, not a damn dog."

"Momma says damn is a yucky word. I'm not allowed to say it. She says it a lot when she stubs her toe and stuff."

Great book!
This book is from Tessie and Shooter's POV.

Shooter is a member of the Hellions MC. He is haunted by the demons of his past and seems to not be able to leave them behind.
Tessie is a single mother. She had to drop out of school in order to get a job and be able to provide for her son. She is a bartender at the bar that the Hellions MC frequent. She is hiding a secret that can change several people lives.

When her cars break downs and Shooter comes to her rescue instead of Rex, Tessie realizes that she is over Rex. Shooter is drawn to Tessie and does everything he can to help her, but because of his demons he decides to stay away from her.
However, something horrible happens to Tessie and when Rex doesn't step up to protect her, Shooter claims her as his old lady. At first, Tessie doesn't take this well, but soon their feelings for each other start to develop and they realize that they can help each other heal from the wounds of their pasts.

Love the story and the characters.
The story has lots of action because of the war between the MCs and the bad blood between brothers due to Tessie's secret. Although it is a story with violence and drama, it is also a story with lots of sweet and spicy moments. Love that it ends with a HEA.
Tessie is a very strong person that loves fiercely and will do everything for the ones she loves, especially her son.
Shooter is a very protective and caring person; he does everything to protect Tessie and her family, even hiding something from a brother.
Axel is a great kid and we can see that Tessie raised him well.
Loved that, when the time was right, we were able to read the story from Rex's POV.

This is a great book and if you like MC books and the other books in this series you'll definitely like this one!

The Hellions Ride Series

One Ride (The Hellion Ride #1)

Delilah "Doll" Reklinger never imagined her life with anyone that wasn't a Hellion. She never imagined a Hellion would come along and prove himself worthy enough to her father, Roundman, Hellions Club President. Content in living in the bubble of safety the motorcycle club family has always provided, Doll never thought that danger surrounded her.

Roundman has kept the Hellions contained for the last thirty years by controlling the chaos surrounding their lifestyle. When the dangerous side to their business comes knocking on his door, he realizes his precious Doll isn't safe. The Hellions code may be that women and children are off limits in any altercation or dispute, but that doesn’t mean their enemies follow that same moral compass.

His only child, now in danger from the association to him and his club, Roundman makes a decision. He sends her away to a charter club, in hopes that the trouble won't follow.

One ride across the country. One simple ride.

Talon "Tripp" Crews has been ordered to take Doll on one ride away and to keep her safe. She's off limits, his head knows this, but his body can't deny the sparks between them. She's feisty, fierce, and fearless.

Constantly in close confines together, can they deny the chemistry? Will they give into the attraction between them? Can one ride turn lust into love?

Forever Ride (The Hellion Ride #2)

Events happen in life that can awaken our truest and deepest desires. They also show us our greatest fears. Sometimes we are forced to face those fears, other times we build walls that can't be broken to protect ourselves.

A profound connection these two once shared. A strong friendship once formed was shattered. Fate has stepped in and shaken both their worlds.

The danger, the wild, the chaos, and the lifestyle of the Hellions world has become far too much for Savannah 'Sass' Perchton. Swearing off bikers and attempting a 'normal' life, she has settled. She's committed to Nick, her country club, pretty boy. She's found a way to be content.

Things aren't always what they seem. Wrap an empty box in pretty paper and a bow, it may look amazing, but it's still a hollow shell.

He's a Hellions playboy. A different chick in his bed, off on a different ride, and always something new. He's Frank the 'Tank' Oleander, Haywood's Hellions Road Chief. Throttle down and life is good.

The fast pace of the Hellions life catches up to him. At a crossroads, he's forced to face some life changing thoughts or succumb to the darkness of death. Teetering on the brink of giving in, her voice is all he's holding onto. The coma he can't pull himself out of, but her voice is the light in the darkness. He wants the girl who pulled him through when his life was literally in the balance.

She's sworn off bikers. Can he pull through? Can she ever see past the lifestyle to the heart of the man behind the cut? Will they find their Forever Ride?

Chelsea Camaron was born and raised in Coastal North Carolina. She currently resides in Southern Louisiana with her husband and two children but her heart is always Carolina day dreaming.

Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab a hold of her dream; she realized that if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, that it was time to follow her own advice.

Chelsea grew up turning wrenches alongside her father, and from that grew her love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which just so happened to inspired her ‘Daddy’s Girls’ series. Her love for reading has sparked a new love for writing and she currently has a few more projects in the works.

When she is not spending her days writing you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might happen to be in.

She hates being serious and is still a big kid at heart. She is a small town country girl enjoying life and, Chelsea hopes that her readers remember not to take life too seriously and to embrace your inner five year old, because five year olds know how to enjoy the simple things in life and how to always have fun.
